Introduction

Vaucluse Hospital has a private specialist rehabilitation unit.  The purpose-built facility provides both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services.

Vaucluse Hospital is staffed with highly skilled doctors, nursing and allied health professionals who possess extensive experience.

What Does Rehabilitation Involve?

On admission to Vaucluse Hospital you will be assessed by a multidisciplinary medical and allied health team who will establish a tailored plan of therapy and goals in consultation with you.

Rehabilitation medical specialists will oversee your therapy and monitor your progress in conjunction with the allied health professionals and your general practitioner.  Nursing care is 24 hours with other services available up to 6 days per week.

On Site Allied Health Team:

Dietitian

Provides suitable dietary advice that will assist with your rehabilitation and help prevent future illness and re-hospitalisation.

Occupational Therapist

Provides retraining of daily living skills, home assessment and modification advice and prescription of aids and equipment.

 

Physiotherapist

Assists with orthopaedic, neurological, surgical and respiratory rehabilitation.

 

Social Worker

Provides planning and organisation of home services and aged care placement if required.

Discharge Planning

Nursing staff will assist with your discharge arrangements including follow-up appointments, medications, discharge nursing service and wound care.

Insurance and Finance Considerations

Our business office will be able to assist you with any concerns relating to private health funds, TAC, Work-cover and Department of Veterans Affairs.
